Volunteer Training Courses 2026 Season - UPDATED

21 Jan by Marissa Woodring

Season will be starting soon! Lets get you cleared for the 2026 season!

Little League backgrounds and trainings are valid from January 1st - December 31st each year however they can be completed as of October 1st for the upcoming year. As of yesterday, Little League updated the required training courses. They have dropped the Sudden Cardiac Arrest as well as the CDC Concussion course and replaced them with courses that are within Little League University. Training courses will now be located in one place, no more multiple websites!

Steps to get cleared:
1) Register yourself through our website, the same way you would your child

2) Complete the JDP that is sent via email to you (this is the Little League mandated background check)

3) LiveScan as this is a California required background (this only needs to be done once for SALL, your first time volunteering)

4) Complete the required trainings
-Diamond Leader Training (Little League mandated/does not expire)

-Abuse Awareness Training (Little League mandated yearly)
https://www.littleleague.org/university/articles/abuse-awareness-training-course/
-Safety Awareness Training (Little League mandated yearly)

-First Aid Awareness Training (Little League mandated yearly)

5) Email safety@suisunlittleleague.com your completed training certificates and a photo of your ID

If you are a manager, coach, team parent or umpire - you will need to complete all of these steps each year with exception to the LiveScan that is done only once.

If you are volunteering for the snack shack, field prep or to keep score - you will only need to complete steps 1 & 2 as well as the Abuse Awareness Training.

If you have any questions or just want to say hi :) feel free to reach out to me at safety@suisunlittleleague.com. I promise you this this is not as overwhelming as it seems!
